Why Sugarcane Bagasse

Sugarcane bagasse makes use of sugarcane byproduct after juice extraction. It is a compostable alternative to traditional plastic containers like PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride). Sugarcane fiber can biodegrade within 30 to 90 days on its own, and faster in commercial composting facilities. It can be processed into high-quality packaging products using heat, pulp and pressurised into moulds. Known for being sturdy and durable, sugarcane packaging not only has great resistance to heat, liquids and grease, they can also be refrigerated, stored in the freezer, or safely heated in the microwave.

Why Kraft Paper

Kraft paper is made from wood pulp, a renewable resource which makes it more sustainable than many packaging materials currently on the market. It is not only biodegradable but also recyclable. When left untreated, kraft paper is one of the easiest materials to recycle. Kraft paper is also durable, tear-resistant, lightweight, affordable, and versatile. Ideal for creating durable wrapping paper, sturdy cartons and rigid boxes, kraft paper can be customised for branded packaging solutions.

Better Alternatives

PET, or Polyethylene Terephthalate, is commonly used in plastic food packaging renowned for its strength, transparency, and versatility. It is highly recyclable and widely accepted in recycling programs and can be recycled into new bottles, textiles, and more. PET is considered safe for drinking water and other beverages, making it a popular choice for food-grade containers. Although not all of it gets recycled, PET’s production process has a relatively low carbon footprint compared to other plastics. It can be recycled multiple times, reducing the need for new plastic production. PET is cheaper to produce, making it a cost-effective option.
